Report: Man killed in Nashville storm

NEED TO KNOW
  • Possible tornadoes reported in 4 states
  • Line of storms stretches from Indiana to Louisiana

Violent storms are being blamed for at least one death in Nashville.

HLN affiliate WSMV says a tree fell on a shed there, killing a man who was working inside.

Overnight there were reports of possible tornadoes in Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Missouri. Watches and warnings are up for an area along a line of storms that stretches from Louisiana to Indiana.

Many schools in hard hit areas of Alabama and Tennessee are closed or delayed.

HLN meteorologist Bob Van Dillen warns straight line winds, up to 70-miles-per hour, are a big threat today.
