Matt Damon hijacks 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

  • Matt Damon escalated the mock feud between he and Jimmy Kimmel Thursday
  • Several big-name celebs helped Damon take over Kimmel's show for the night

“Let me ask you guys this. As an audience, is it weird to see a person with actual talent host this show?”

That was just one of many good-natured barbs thrown at Jimmy Kimmel Thursday night when Matt Damon escalated the mock feud between he and the late-night host by taking over Kimmel’s show. He even changed the name of the program in the opening credits from "Jimmy Kimmel Live" to "Jimmy Kimmel Sucks."

Throughout the show, Kimmel could be seen duct-taped and tied to a chair in the background, gagged with his own tie, and struggling to get free.

For years, Kimmel has closed his show by joking, “Apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time.” On Thursday's show, Damon paid the host back for “bumping” him for so long and through a very funny mock highlight reel, explained why.

Damon enlisted a string of other celebs to help him hijack the show: his buddy -- and recent Golden Globe winner -- Ben Affleck, Robin Williams, Sheryl Crowe, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Demi Moore all joined in.

Damon even enlisted the help of Kimmel’s ex, comedian Sarah Silverman, who went viral in 2009 with a parody song “admission” that she’d been having an affair with Matt Damon… but not in those words exactly. Google it.

At the end of the takeover, Damon turned the tables one final time on Kimmel. Surrounded by all his guest stars, Damon asked Kimmel, still bound and gagged, if he had anything to say. But just before he could pull the tie from Kimmel’s mouth… they were out of time!

Kimmel will get his time to speak, though. He’s getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, just one day before the 10-year anniversary of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” which just recently moved from midnight to 11:35 p.m. ET. The ceremony will take place right in front of the El Capitan Theater on Hollywood Boulevard, where they tape the show.
