Got a bad case of the January blues? An action-packed trip to the movies (complete with jolts of energy and a big bowl of popcorn) may be just what the doctor ordered. So what's coming out this weekend? Mr. Moviefone gives his take on two new films making their weekend debut.
Seasoned actors Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe and Catherine Zeta-Jones team up in the gritty drama "Broken City." The crime flick follows a private detective (played by Walhberg) who's tracking the wife of New York's mayor (played by Crowe). The plan is to trail her to see if she's having an affair, but they find out much more than they bargained for. Russ Leatherman, the voice of Mr. Moviefone, called the movie predictable with Crowe's New York accent less than stellar.
If you're looking for an action-packed movie, you may be curious how "The Last Stand" stacked up. The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as a small-town sheriff who goes to war against a powerful drug cartel leader. So what did Leatherman think? Pleasantly surprised! He called the film "an old-school action flick." The R-rated movie marks Schwarzenegger's first lead role since "Terminator 3" -- a good move for his comeback, according to Leatherman.
