In one word, Lance Armstrong recanted a decade of strenuous denials, validated his past accusers and officially confirmed what many had long suspected. Yes, he used banned substances to enhance his cycling during his extraordinary career. Yes, it included blood doping, human growth hormone and testosterone.
He was candid about his doping and acknowledged he would have been unable to win the Tour de France seven times without his banned substance regimen. He added that at the time he did not consider his use cheating because he was leveling the playing field.
