The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released its flu advisory report for December 30 to January 5. More states are reporting widespread flu activity (it's now at 47 states, up from 41) but only 24 states are now reporting high levels of the flu (that number is down from 29).
CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta calls it a wash. But we're only at the midpoint of the season right now so he says we shouldn't get comfortable just yet.
“It’s very hard to read into one week of numbers and say now we have a trajectory, now we have a trend," says Gupta. "You really want to look over the next few weeks to be able to say that because you could have downs and ups a little bit."
