A father's mission to protect our kids

September 27, 2006, was the last day John Michael Keyes and his wife Ellen saw their 16-year-old daughter Emily alive. She was one of seven girls taken hostage when a gunman entered her Colorado high school.

While detained Emily sent her last words to her father in a text message. It said, "I love you guys."The gunman killed Emily before police were able to get to the room where they were barricaded.

Arming teachers to keep kids safe

The Keyes were determined to turn their tragedy into something positive. They started the "I Love U Guys" foundation to help promote school safety.
