A photographer was struck and killed Tuesday in Los Angeles after taking pictures of Justin Bieber's car.
The white Ferrari was pulled over by LAPD on a busy street when it was spotted by a paparazzo who stopped his car on the other side of the road and crossed traffic to take pictures.
A spokesman for the LAPD tells HLN that the photog was struck and killed by another car while walking back across the street after being instructed to move away from the scene.
Bieber was not driving or even in the vehicle at the time, but the singer did release a statement offering his condolences:
"While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim. Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves."
Police have not released the photographer's name.
