People around the world observed a moment of silence in memory of the victims in the December 14, 2012, shooting rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School that killed six women and 20 children in Newtown, Connecticut.
Friends and families of the fallen stood with Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy at Edmond Town Hall in Newtown. Under a falling rain, they quietly listened to a single bell struck once for each of the 26 people who died exactly a week ago.
