Antivirus pioneer McAfee arrested in Guatemala

  • John McAfee taken into custody for illegal entry; he could be deported
  • Police in Belize want to question him about his neighbor's death

Internet security tycoon John McAfee was arrested in Guatemala on Wednesday after fleeing Belize amid allegations that he could be involved in the slaying of his neighbor.

There's a chance he could be deported back to Belize Thursday. Guatemalan authorities detained McAfee because he entered the country illegally.

McAfee had been on the run since mid-November, eluding Belizean police, who want to question him about the death of his neighbor.

McAfee is famous for the Internet security company that he left in 1994, but that still carries his name.

He has maintained his innocence through his blog and various media interviews.

McAfee is blogging from jail, and early Thursday morning he posted that he has "asked to be returned to the United States."
