Guided by her daddy's hands, little Adalynn Willett steps out into the sunshine for the very first time. After 850 days -- more than two years -- she is finally leaving Cook Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, the only home she's ever known.
Her parents are ecstatic. Two-year-old Adalynn wasn't supposed to make it this far.
"I just didn't think this day would ever come," her mother Serfania Sevallos told WFAA. "Babies that are born the way she is usually don't make it because they have so many problems."
Adalynn was born with her liver and intestines outside her body, and has been subject to nearly a surgery a month during her short life. But somehow, she always fought back, and is now setting off on her newest and most anticipated journey -- the car ride home.
