Newly released photos of George Zimmerman’s injuries from the night he shot and killed Trayvon Martin could play a large role in his defense strategy, legal experts say.

Zimmerman’s Attorney Mark O’Mara says prosecutors initially only gave him a black and white copy of the picture of Zimmerman’s injuries from that fateful February night in Sanford, Florida.

O’Mara had to request a copy of the color high-resolution image and only recently received it. In the more graphic photo, you can see blood on Zimmerman’s nose and lips. Zimmerman says he shot the teenager in self-defense.
