It's come to be known as a day that will live in infamy. When Japanese planes attacked Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, it prompted America's entry into World War II.

The attack killed more than 2,300 Americans, according to the Library of Congress.  This week marks the 71st anniversary of the incident. Watch this news brief from the era and see just how it unfolded.
