Is it wrong for an NFL player to ask somebody on the other team for an autograph? Some Kansas City Chiefs fans are upset after news cameras catch their Jamaal Charles asking Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning to sign a book for his mom. Adding perceived insult to perceived injury, the request came right after the Broncos beat the Chiefs.
Jamaal Charles gave 110% and had a great day on the field... but after the Broncos dealt the Chiefs their league-worst 10th loss of the season, fans in Kansas City did not want to see Charles walking over to Future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning and asking him to sign a book for his mom.
Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe also asked to have his picture taken with Manning.
KCTV aired the clip, and former Chiefs player Rich Baldinger reacted, saying he had never asked for an opposing player's autograph. Baldinger continued, "...to be smiling and laughing after a loss like that… I just think it just goes to show what this team's about. I don’t know if winning's really that important."
What do you say? Was it appropriate?
