A missing child from Hazlehurst, Georgia, was reunited with her mother on Thanksgiving, according to HLN affiliate KMGH.
Alexis Newman, 14, was found in Park County, Colorado, with her stepfather Michael Dempsey, whom police suspected had taken Alexis, the station reports.
Alexis went missing from her Georgia home on June 25. Alexis' mother feared for her safety because of Dempsey's criminal past. In Session spotlighted the search for Newman during a Find Our Children segment.
A tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children brought investigators to a Colorado subdivision, where police found Alexis and arrested Dempsey. By Thanksgiving morning, Alexis was on a plane back to Georgia to be with her mother. Police say she is in good condition.
