Holiday shopping for the younger set can be tricky and with endless aisles of options, HOW do you find the perfect gift for the kiddo in your life? Not to fear. Weekend Express called in a toy expert (yes, that's a real gig!) to help you snag the hottest toys and trinkets for kids this year.
Christopher Byrne has a job that most first-graders can only dream of: he's the content director for Time to Play magazine. In short -- he knows a lot about all the latest and greatest on the toy market.
He broke down the top 5 most wanted toys this year:
- The Mattel Monster High High School for $74.99.
Byrne dubbed the Monster High set the "ultimate dollhouse," complete with various rooms and even casket lockers. Ages 6+
- Hasbro Furbies. Back in action from 1998, the Furby's suggested retail price is $59.99.
Toy guru Christopher Byrne said the once again beloved electronic pets are updated (complete with an iPad and iPhone app), putting the Furby back at the top of the gift giving list for kids. Ages 6+

The newest Nerf gun may also be suitable for the fun loving adult in your life, according to Byrne. The battery operated blaster comes equipped with different cartridge capability. Ages 4+
