Election night was not a happy one for roughly half the country and now some people are calling for drastic measures: they want their states to secede from the country!
Americans in 35 states have signed a petition on whitehouse.gov asking that their state be allowed to withdraw from the United States (peacefully of course) and start a new government.
Watch: He voted for Obama, she voted for Romney!
Most of those petitions come from solidly conservative states but there are even calls from New York, California and Oregon.
