David Petraeus breaks his silence to HLN’s Kyra Philips. Read her full description of their conversations right here.
Sources describe Jill Kelley as "a socialite" who hosted parties and was in constant contact with military officials. She also holds the title of "honorary consul of South Korea."
Kelly is the one who told the FBI that she had gotten threatening emails. An investigation revealed they were from Petraeus's mistress -- and that’s what brought the affair between Petraeus and Paula Broadwell to light.
This week, Kelley called 911 at least five times to report people on her property (hear the calls in the video above).
We learned this morning that Kelly is an honorary consul of South Korea, but a military spokesman says Kelley is just a volunteer at U.S. Central Command in Tampa and has no official position there. Still, she was close enough to both Petraeus and General John Allen for them to help her twin sister in a custody battle. "Both wrote letters on her sister's behalf saying she was a good mother," reports CNN's Ed Lavendera.
General Allen is the top U.S. Commander in Afghanistan. According to Defense Department officials, Kelley exchanged "flirtatious" emails with him. Sources close to Kelley say the messages are not sexual, but Allen is now also under investigation.
