Good Monday all,
Falling temperatures around the Northeast are starting to take a toll on hundreds of thousands of people who are still at the mercy of the elements. Highs today in major metro cities will range in the mid to upper 40’s, while lows are now nearing the freezing mark. In some places, that’s nearly 15 degrees colder than last week in the aftermath of the storm.
We are also continuing to monitor the potential for a nor’easter along the shores of areas hit hard during Sandy. A developing storm over the Southeast is forecast to track up the eastern seaboard starting Tuesday and could batter New England sometime between Wednesday and Thursday.
At this juncture, the storm is forecast to bring heavy rains, gusty winds and rough storm surge to parts of the region. These can all wreak havoc on clean-up, recovery and power restoration during the middle of this week.
The storm is also forecast to bring heavy snowfall, but that looks to remain mostly over the higher elevations of New England.
