A nanny stabbed two young kids to death Thursday in an apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan before stabbing herself, police said.
The children's mother, Marina Krim, returned home early Thursday evening to find her 2-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter in a bathtub, stabbed, as their nanny lay bleeding nearby.
The father of the children is Kevin Krim, an executive with CNBC, several officials familiar with the investigation said.
Marina was taken to the hospital for emotional trauma, and police say she could barely speak.
The nanny was arrested and taken to St. Luke's Hospital in critical but stable condition, police said.
It was not clear why the violence occurred and officers did not know how long the nanny had worked for the Krim family, police Commissioner Ray Kelly said.
