Three students at a high school pep rally in Waverly, New York, re-enacted singer Chris Brown's assault on Rihanna during a skit for homecoming.
At least two of them were wearing black body paint. iReporter Matthew Dishler uploaded a picture from the event to CNN iReport and soon afterward, it had gone viral.
Comments have been pouring in and while many say the skit was racist and made fun of domestic violence, others say the outcry is an overreaction.
Waverly Central School District Superintendent Joseph Yelich issued a statement saying, "Ultimately, we will address the whole student body to set clear expectations for all of our behavior and the impact it has on all people."
