Vice President Joe Biden wasted no time in last night's debate, tearing into Mitt Romney's controversial remark about the 47% of Americans who rely on government support. Challenger Paul Ryan had a response ready: "I think the Vice President very well knows, that sometimes the words don't come out of your mouth the right way."
More people who watched last night thought Paul Ryan was the winner than gave the edge to Biden, according to a CNN/ORC poll -- but it was close:
That's within the margin of error.
Mitt Romney called from a hotel room in North Carolina -- where he watched the debate -- to congratulate Representative Ryan.
The President watched from Air Force One and told reporters he was happy with Biden's performance.
