The man who wrote a scathing e-mail criticizing a Wisconsin TV anchor’s weight now says he’s “never meant to hurt” her.

Kenneth Krause told ABC News that he stands by his original message, but said he probably could’ve taken a different approach.

“If she is offended, I truly apologize to Jennifer,” Krause said. “That’s the last thing I ever wanted to do.”

After seeing Livingston on the news, Krause wrote an e-mail criticizing her appearance and telling her she's not setting a good example for children.

Livingston said the e-mail "lit a fire in her" and she took her "bully" to task, saying she was “more than just a number on a scale."

Livingston said she works out, but she has a thyroid condition that makes it hard for her to lose weight.
