This may be just what "American Idol" producers were hoping for when they hired two of music's biggest divas -- a catfight!
Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj were caught on camera yelling at each other, with Minaj spewing profanities at Carey, while fellow judges Keith Urban and Randy Jackson attempted to calm the situation.
The leaked video -- obtained by TMZ -- starts mid-argument, with Minaj verbally sparring with Carey at the judges' tables during a taping Tuesday in North Carolina.
Though the audio is muffled, Minaj can be heard shouting, "I told them I'm not f****** putting up with her f****** highness over there. Figure it the f*** out. Figure it out."
The rapper continues, "I'm not gonna sit here every f****** minute to have you come down and harass me every minute, everyday," she says while Urban, who is sitting in between the two, tries to calm her down.
Carey can be heard off camera, imploring "why, why, why," and expressing her desire to spend time with her children instead of arguing. Minaj fires back, "Good, well then go see them now. Go see them now!"
According to TMZ and MouthToEars.com, production for the day was wrapped after the blowout so that all parties could cool off. Camps for Carey, Minaj and Fox offered no comment on the story.
In a September press conference where "Idol" introduced the new judging panel, Carey and Jackson downplayed any arguing on set. "We're having a good time ... there is a lot of laughs," said Jackson.
