At 19 years of age, Tanya Angus was 5’11” and 115 lbs … but it was at that time her body first started to change.
Now at age 33, a disorder called Acromegaly has made her 7’0” and 404 lbs.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, Acromegaly is rare disease associated with too much growth hormone (GH), mostly caused by pituitary gland tumors.
Angus talked with HLN’s Dr. Drew Thursday night about how she lives with her physical limitations and emotional challenges.
She said, “I take a lot of pain medication that my doctors have me on, [but] I say that God only gives you as much as you can handle."
She added, “If your doctors aren't catching it, you need to see one of your other closer doctors.”
