Dr. Drew

Driven by current events, "Dr. Drew" on HLN focuses on the human - and human behavior - at the center of the story.

Shorter cardio workouts better for you?

  • 'It's not how long; it's how strong,' fitness trainer says
  • You only need it 20 minutes a day, she adds

Fitness trainer, reality TV star and author of "10 Pounds in 10 Days: The Secret Celebrity Program for Losing Weight Fast", Jackie Warner joined HLN’s Dr. Drew Tuesday night. She says one of her top tips is shorter cardio workouts.

“People love to hear this,” she said. “It's not how long; it's how strong. You see the same girls on the ellipticals for two hours and they never change their body type. You have incorporate high intensity interval training where you bring your heart rate way up for increments and then down and then up and down. You only need that for 20 minutes a day."
