It turns out one of the most influential lobbyists against big plastic in the state of Illinois may be a 13-year-old girl.
Abby Goldberg started a petition to keep her state from making plastic bag bans illegal. A few months and about 175,000 signatures later, her hard work paid off! She got a call from Gov. Pat Quinn, saying he would veto a bill that would have prevented towns from approving bans on plastic bags.
She joined HLN's Evening Express to talk about what inspired her to start the petition.
Every night on Evening Express, we bring you stories about people who are doing good in their communities, around the country and around the world.
