Police say a woman posing as a nurse tried to steal a new mom's baby out of a hospital in California.

Surveillance video shows the suspect walking into Garden Grove Medical Center on Monday, dressed in scrubs.

Police say she told the mom to take a shower and get ready for a doctor's visit. That's when they say she put the newborn into a tote bag and tried to leave.

What she didn't know is that the baby was wearing a tiny ankle bracelet that set off alarms and sent the staff scrambling. They were able to get the baby girl back to her mom unharmed.
