July 25, 1985: Rock Hudson tells the world he has contracted the AIDS virus. The world, which still knew very little about the disease, is shocked to see Hollywood's leading man as a frail shadow of himself.

Fast forward to 1991. This time, it's basketball great Earvin "Magic" Johnson announcing he tested positive for HIV. Watch his historic announcement.
