The new Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises" comes out this Friday and there’s a lot of buzz about a possible “secret message.”
Radio host Rush Limbaugh says the movie's villain is an intentional swipe at Mitt Romney. You know the villain “Bane”? Limbaugh says he was named that to make “brain dead” people associate him with Mitt Romney’s "Bain" Capital.
We decided to do a little digging on this and here’s what we found: It turns out Christopher Nolan wrote the script and shot the movie long before Mitt Romney announced his candidacy for president in 2011.
Limbaugh might have also missed this: Bane was the bad guy in the 1997 Warner Brothers Film "Batman and Robin" starring George Clooney.
There’s more: Bane officially debuted in the 1993 DC Comic “Batman: Vengeance of Bane.”
Limbaugh has since said he didn't say there was a conspiracy, just that people will link the two.
