'Romance secretary' wants to plan your dates!

NEED TO KNOW
  • Young New York couple asked for help with their love life
  • Brenndon Knox calls himself a 'romance secretary' and has been helping them set up dates and relay messages

Are you SO busy that you'd be willing to pay a total stranger to plan your love life?

A New York couple in their 20s put an ad on Craiglist asking for a little help in the dating department and ended up hiring Brenndon Knox. He had never done anything like it before but thought, hey, I'd be pretty good at this. So just what DOES he do for the couple?

"I manage their schedules, I come up with fun, interesting date ideas, I do some light message relay," Knox tells HLN's Evening Express.

Message relay? Yeah, we hadn't heard of it before either, but it's pretty much what you'd expect: Sometimes he plays middleman between the two, passing along cute messages or making sure they answer each other's questions in a timely manner.

"It’s easy for both of them because I can harass the other without the other feeling annoying," he says.

Some days he might not spend much time working with the couple while on other days he might be dedicated to them for hours.

Here's an example of one of the dates he concocted for them: They had half an hour and were both coming from events where they were dressed up, so he had them take a leisurely stroll through Whole Foods together.

“They like doing things that are really out there, they’re an adventurous couple,” he says.

Knox is only working with this one couple right now, but he's hoping to expand his business. Would you ever pay a "romance secretary" to help manage your love life?
