The moral of this story: In a movie about hot male strippers, clothing may be optional but a spell check shouldn't be.
A commercial for "Magic Mike," the new male stripper movie starring Channing Tatum, featured an embarrassing typo. The ad includes a written warning that after you see this movie, "your boyfriend may appear inadequate." But the ad that aired nationally this week, including during ABC’s “The Bachelorette,” omitted the crucial "f" from "boyfriend" -- thus cautioning about the shortcomings of your "boyriend."
The spelling fail was caught by a viewer who posted it to YouTube.
Warner Bros. has since released a corrected version of the ad. But the initial goof doesn’t appear to be hurting "Magic Mike’s"… um… bottom line. Early box office reports indicate "Magic Mike" is headed for a big opening weekend -- proof that people lining up to watch Tatum strut his stuff aren't expecting a spelling lesson.
