The surprise military reunion you must watch!

  • Master Sergeant Dave Sims has been in Afghanistan for 6 months
  • Family (including 4 kids) shocked to see him walk out at Turner Field

A soldier comes home to his family. On Memorial Day. At a baseball game. Is there anything more American than that?

Master Sgt. Dave Sims from Warner Robins, Georgia, came home from Afghanistan yesterday, and cooked up a surprise for his family in front of a stadium full of people at Turner Field in Atlanta.

During the 5th inning, the Sims family was invited out on the field to watch a message from Sims on the BravesVision screen. They believed he was still in Afghanistan, so they were shocked and thrilled when he walked out for a hug-fest with his wife and four children … right in front of the Braves dugout in front of 40,000 cheering fans!

WATCH Another tear-jerking surprise: Mommy AND Daddy come home at the same time!

Sims’ wife Robin says she suspected something because she watches a lot of TV shows that feature reunions.

Now that he's home, the first thing Sims wants to do is eat -- preferably a "greasy burger."

Sims told his kids if they were good while he was gone, he would take them each on a special trip of their choosing, so Legoland in Atlanta may be in their near future.
