This is dedication, folks. A couple has been dressing in matching outfits for more than 35 years!!! 

When Joey Schwanke, 81, pulls out a purple floral-print dress, her husband Mel, 86, puts on a matching tie every single morning. And they have 146 custom-made combos to choose from. 

So, why did they decide to start doing it? Well, they aren’t really sure.  “Oh goodness sakes, no. I don’t remember how that first outfit came about,” Mel told our affiliate KETV in Omaha, Nebraska.

But they’ve come this far, and they have no intention of stopping now.  “We don’t dare go somewhere without having matching outfits,” Mel said. “Every day, my tie matches her dress.” 

Most of their matching outfits are covered in flowers. But that doesn’t bother Mel. It’s in honor of the floral shop the couple ran for about 60 years.

So, is that the secret to marital bliss? Dressing alike? Well, Mel might have another trick. He always lets Joey pick out their outfits.
