Graduates salute deployed classmate

  • 1st Lt. Rebecca Kipper is serving in Kuwait with the California National Guard
  • Soldier was unable to graduate due to deployment

This salute was created on Friday May 18, 2012 -- graduation day at Chapman University School of Law.

Dean Tom Campbell and Chapman's graduating class of 2012 created this literal "shout out" to their classmate, 1st Lt. Rebecca Kipper.  Lt. Kipper could not take part in graduation because she is serving a tour of duty in Kuwait with the California Army National Guard.

She was called to duty in February and could not finish up her final semester. But she will be returning in 2013 to finish her studies.
