Skechers to give refunds for Shape-ups

NEED TO KNOW
  • Company said shoes could help tone muscles
  • Federal Trade Commission says claims are not true

If you bought a pair of Skechers in the past few years you could be getting some money back.  The company makes shoes that promised to lift and tone -- like Shape-ups, Resistance Runner, Shape-ups Toners/Trainers, and Tone-ups.

But the Federal Trade Commission says those claims were simply not true and wearing those shoes will not tone your behind like Kim Kardashian after all.

Skechers denies the allegations and says it stands behind its technology but it has agreed to a settlement.  Now it has to pay $50 million, and some of that could be yours.

A website has been set up to give you all the information you need skecherssettlement.com.

If you've purchased a pair since August 1, 2008 you may be eligible to apply for a refund.
