Millionaire gets 16 years for DUI death... at home

NEED TO KNOW
  • John Goodman sentenced to prison for DUI manslaughter
  • Polo mogul to be released from jail on $7 million bond
  • Goodman must also pay for off-duty officers to watch him

Convicted multi-millionaire John Goodman was sentenced to 16 years in prison for a DUI manslaughter Friday -- but instead of living in a small cell with prison food and inmates, Goodman will be released to live in luxury. The cost of freedom: $7 million.

Once he posts bond, he’s allowed to return to his 100-plus acre estate, to his tennis courts and swimming pool, while his attorneys work on his appeal. Goodman will also dish out extra cash for his electronic bracelet and an off-duty cop to watch him 24/7.
