Vogue magazine announced last week that the editors of the 19 international editions of Vogue magazine have vowed not to use models under the age of 16 or those who appear to have an eating disorder.
Showbiz Tonight talked to Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of American Vogue, at the MET Institute Costume Gala and asked why the ban was important. “We’re just very conscious that we do not want to put anyone in the magazine that might have some kind of eating disorder so we’re really doing our best to be very careful,” explained Wintour.
Model and actress Liv Tyler also weighed in on Vogue’s underage ban at the MET on Monday. “That would be incredible if it actually happened,” Tyler told Showbiz Tonight. “A lot of the girls are so young and they’re prepubescent.”
