According to authorities, a 13-year-old Florida boy was forced by his grandparents to kneel on the bathroom floor with his hands behind his back for nine hours a day as punishment for not doing his homework.

An affidavit says the discipline also included a morning "protein" shake made of meat and vegetables. He was reportedly denied food for the rest of the day.

Albert Cusson, 57, and his wife Nancy, 47, of Lakeland, Fla., admit that they punished him this way. It allegedly went on for 10 days before the boy ran away from home and told a neighbor.  The Cussons have since been jailed on child abuse charges.
