This is a salute from Major Jermaine Hampton to his sister. Jermaine writes:
"My sister and I are both in the U.S. Army. Her name is Staff Sergeant Sharonda Davis, and she is currently deployed to Afghanistan. Having been deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq, myself, I know what she is going through being separated from her kids and the family. SSG Davis is my hero and I am so proud of her for enlisting in the military when her life seemed to be going in the wrong direction, and most of all for stepping up and taking in our youngest sister after our mom died in 2005, all while being a single parent.
SSG DAVIS this is MAJOR Jermaine Hampton sending you a shoot out and hand salute!"
If you have someone you are proud of who is serving in the military, visit the Salute To Troops iReport page and tell us about him or her. We'd love to recognize their service on Morning Express with Robin Meade.
