Kidnapped in broad daylight, and sexually assaulted at the age of 17, Angela Rose survived that ordeal and now tells her story in the hopes that it will save others.

Angela credits her grandmother for helping her though the aftermath and leading her to become an activist for other victims. "She was the first person to call me and say, 'I know this was hard for you Angela, but this happened for a reason.'"

Flash forward to 2001. Since her ordeal and inspired by her grandmother’s words Angela founded a program called "PAVE: Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment." And for the last ten years has been helping people understand that we can’t always choose what happens to us, but we can choose how we grow from negative experiences and we can use them to help others heal. Angela says that is, "something we need to do, to break that cycle of violence."
