Just two nights before her death, Whitney Houston was partying at friend Kelly Price’s pre-Grammy party. Whitney even took the stage to sing with Price, and it was all captured on tape by music executive Steve Jones of VGS&L Entertainment.

Jones tells Showbiz Tonight's A.J. Hammer he hung out with Whitney for hours in the VIP area before she took the stage. “We didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. I will say she was partying with her daughter, a lot of dancing, just a lot of high energy,” recalls Jones. “She was excited about life and she was having a great time.”

There have been reports that that night, Whitney was drinking champagne and got into an altercation with former “X-Factor” contestant Stacy Francis over R&B singer Ray J, who had a close relationship with Whitney. While Jones confirms that he did see Whitney drinking glasses of champagne at the soiree, he says that no physical altercation between the two occurred.

“In the VIP room downstairs, Stacy did come and introduce herself as a finalist for ‘X-Factor.’ Whitney took that opportunity to speak into her life and the music industry,” says Jones. “I have heard that when we went upstairs for the performance that something happened between the two of them … but I know there was no physical altercation by any means.”
