Air Force Lieutenant First Class David Butzin and his girlfriend Rosaly Aponte went on their first date, Valentines Day 2011. Talk about pressure! All social stresses aside, it obviously went well because one year later David is taking their relationship to the next level live on HLN.
It’s the ultimate Valentine’s Day gesture … a proposal.
Before you watch the video to see if Rosaly says yes, here’s some background on our young couple from David:
Rosaly and I met in late 2009 at Heroes and Villains (a comics and gaming store). We both enjoy Trading Card Games, Board Games, and Console Games. We are both pursuing professional careers in our respective fields (Accounting and Military/Engineering). Over the next year and a half we discovered many other shared interests including the love of travel, live music, and great food. In February 2011 we both found ourselves in life situations that led us directly to each other. We declared it official on 14 February 2011 and have not looked back since. The past year we have spent traveling at every opportunity. We often fill our trips with our mutual gaming love, traveling for Magic: the Gathering tournaments, GenCon (the world’s largest gaming convention), and DragonCon. We have visited Michigan several times to spend time with my family and in the near future I have planned a trip to Puerto Rico. We’ll be spending several days on the island visiting members of her family, seeing the sights, and enjoying it all together.
David told Rosaly that they were coming to Atlanta to salute their many friends and family members who serve or have served in the U.S. Armed Forces live on the air during Morning Express -- which they did -- but there was one other bit of business he had on the agenda as well.
