Gloria Estefan says she has always been a close friend of Whitney Houston. Estefan was even at Whitney and Bobby Brown’s wedding! Estefan now remembers her late friend as one of her biggest fans in an interview with Showbiz Tonight’s A.J. Hammer.
“I was a huge fan. First time I heard Whitney’s ‘Saving All My Love for You’ I was in Japan and I wore out that CD. I just was a huge fan and I thought ‘Oh my God. What a beautiful voice.’”
Estefan also knows the pressure stars like Whitney feel from constantly being in the public eye. “People tend to forget that we are human beings,” explains Estefan. “Our job is to entertain and make people forget about their troubles… add to that fact everyone is watching your every move.”
Estefan goes on to say, “Like everyone else we go through tough times but in the public eye. It’s tough.”
