New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs is now apologizing after telling reporters that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's supermodel wife needs to "shut up" and "stay cute."
Okay, this is turning into "The Real Housewives of the NFL.”
After Gisele Bundchen called out her husband’s teammates for not catching the ball (in her opinion) on Super Bowl Sunday, Jacobs sounded off at New York's victory rally saying, "She just needs to continue to stay cute and shut up."
Jacobs now tells ESPN radio he's sorry about the "shut up" comment, saying, "Given the fact that it's a colleague of mine's wife, I do apologize for saying that, because I shouldn't have said that." But Jacobs says the "stay cute" part of his comment was a compliment, and if Brady has a issue with him thinking Gisele is cute, then that's Brady's problem.
Meanwhile, New England Patriots safety Brett Lockett is defending Gisele. Locket was at the Third Annual Essence Magazine Black Women in Music event when he said, “When things happen like that, you know that people are emotional and sometimes, you know, we let our emotions get the best of us. But I just felt that it was an honest answer that she just gave at the time ... I don’t know if she regrets it or not but she just spoke her mind and I don’t think anything was wrong with that.”
In my opinion, Gisele was just standing up for Brady on Super Bowl Sunday, and now Brady needs to support Gisele with some kind of statement. We haven't heard from either of them since Sunday night. C’mon, Tom: Your wife had your back, now you need to return the favor.
