For many people, the dating scene can be a scary place. It’s full of uncertainty, uncomfortable moments, and of course, possible rejection. So a lot of these same people have turned to online dating as a way to level the playing field. That way they can search for the perfect match with out having to be “checked out” at a nightclub or bar.
Sounds like the safer alternative, right? Maybe not.
Take for instance the cautionary tale of Mary Kay Beckman. She was one of the millions of people looking for love by using an online dating site. That’s where Beckman says she met the match from hell.
Beckman met Wade Ridley on an online dating site and they went out on a few dates. After two weeks, Ridley hid in her garage and ended up attacking her, nearly stabbing her to death, she said. He later admitted that he “wanted her to pay” for ending the short-lived relationship.
Beckman joined Jane Velez-Mitchell exclusively to talk about her story of survival. While many people have successfully found love on these dating sites, she is speaking out to warn woman of the hidden dangers that can also come with online dating.
