This has to be the one race in the entire country where you gain weight by the time it's over.

All of the runners just keep reminding themselves as they nearly vomit: It's for charity ... it's for charity ... it's for charity.

In North Carolina this weekend, 7,000 runners took on the "Krispy Kreme Challenge." They ran 2.5 miles, stopped and ate a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and then ran 2.5 miles back. Did you miss that middle part? Yes, they each eat 12 Krispy Kremes. Wow. At least it's not a baker's dozen.

In the end, they raised $100,000 for a local children's hospital.
