A Colorado mother has been charged with murder after her three-year-old son's body was found hidden under the trailer home where she used to live.

Relatives of Juanita Kinzie told KMGH that they tried about a dozen times over the last year to get social services workers to check on Kinzie and her son, Caleb Pacheco, but the agency never followed up on their requests.

The family finally reported Caleb missing earlier this month, and Kinzie's ex-boyfriend suggested to police that they look underneath the trailer that he helped her move out of last summer, according to court documents. That's where they discovered Caleb's skeleton. His cause of death is still unknown.

Citing a gag order, a Colorado Department of Human Services spokesperson declined to comment on the investigation.
