Tracy Morgan, you don’t need a publicist -- you’ve got Melissa Leo! The Oscar-winning actress is rushing to the defense of the comedian, days after his dramatic collapse at the Sundance Film Festival.

She ought to know what happened up on the mountain in Park City. Leo and Morgan did press all day Saturday around the premiere of their new film, “Predisposed”

“By my observation [Tracy has] the most severe case of diabetes I have ever witnessed,” she told HLN's Showbiz Tonight exclusively. Leo says it was his medical condition, combined with all the excitement of being at Sundance, plus the altitude in Park City (elevation 7,000 feet) that did him in.

“I think it was just too much and down he went,” she said. He hit the deck after receiving an award at a Creative Coalition event and was taken by ambulance to the Park City Medical Center. TMZ, citing “source," claimed it appeared he was drunk that night, but Leo says that’s baloney.

“Tracy is not a drinker. That is not his issue. He’s a crazy man, but he’s not a drinker,” she said.

Morgan’s back on the east coast and working on his sitcom -- his sense of humor intact. Tuesday, he tweeted “On the set of 30 Rock, just walked past @alecbaldwin and said Top That!”

That’s an obvious reference to the mini-scandal that erupted last month over Baldwin’s behavior on and subsequent ejection from an American Airlines flight.
