Iowa mom arrested after bodies of twins found in car

  • Mom charged with murder after bodies of twins found in trunk of car
  • Co-workers became suspicious when she showed up for work no longer looking pregnant

A 22-year-old Iowa woman has been arrested for the alleged murder of her newborn twins. According to court documents, Jackie Burkle had lied to co-workers at a local grocery store in an attempt to hide her pregnancy, but her fellow employees became suspicious when she showed up for work one day “with a completely different physical appearance.”

One of those co-workers reportedly contacted police, who went to Burkle’s home to check on her. After a blood test proved she was recently pregnant, court documents say she admitted that she had given birth and told police where the twins’ bodies were.

“When they arrived at Jackie’s home, they made the gruesome discovery: Her two newborn baby girls found dead in the trunk of her car,” Joe Gomez of KTRH News Radio said on Nancy Grace Friday.
