One Clark County, Ohio, family with a history of pulling pranks on each other found themselves on the wrong side of the law after one joke went too far.
Someone in the family thought it would be hilarious to dress up a mannequin and put it on the cousins' front porch, complete with a toy shotgun. But things backfired when the prank worked a little too well. Take a look at the video above from HLN affiliate WDTN and you can see, it's a pretty realistic dummy!
When the cousin drove up to her house, she saw the dummy and thought she was facing a real intruder. She freaked out and called 911 for help. Deputies responded, surrounded the house, and tried negotiating with the fake-man. They drew their guns, but got no response.
They finally figured out he wasn’t real. Deputies were outraged, especially in light of the fact that a year ago, one of their deputies was shot and killed during an investigation. The repercussions are no joke either -- the prankster who supposedly set up the dummy now faces criminal charges of “inducing panic.”
